Identifying the right cardio equipment that works best for you!

Cardiovascular machines are categorized into two sectors which are weight bearing and non-weight bearing units; weight bearing machines consists of units where you stand while in motion and your thighs, arms, glutes, and other muscles are feeling the pressure or force of gravity pulling on your body; these machines also provide a great aerobic exercise experience that can be low, medium, or high intensity.

Non weight-weight bearing machines are recumbent, cycle, and upright bikes, and rowers; non-weight bearing means you’re not standing where your weight is supported by your knees hips and joints. In other words, you’re basically in a sitting position.

My assessment of cardiovascular units are that they are the primary exercise equipment established directly for “staying in shape or getting into shape workouts” or in other words burning fat. These units aid in raising our heart rates and improve overall fitness by targeting your heart and lungs; this is the main explanation of cardio fitness, but I describe the actual purpose is to get you in shape, especially for other activities. Cardio machines are the ultimate weight loss solution; most of the types of exercise machines can be found in hotels, commercial settings, gyms, residential setting, recreational centers, and homeowners association buildings.

STEP 1:

Although you might feel that a treadmill might be the best bet for you to burn calories, but the reality is that your knees may be taking a beating in the process! So identifying what works best may be a matter of exploration.

STEP 2:

After knowing what works best, make sure that you’re able to perform the functions on a steady basis-that is 20 minutes at least for a 3-5 days a week.

STEP 3:

Finally, ensure that you’re not experiencing any aches or sharp pain in any joints, knees or hips. Once that assessment is determined, you’ve reached your desired cardio equipment. Below are examples of the most common cardio vascular equipment used by the vast majority of human beings world wide.

Equipment Overview:

Recumbent bikes cause the least burning calorie output, and that is due to it’s position; the body’s focus is merely lower use, and your back is pressed up against a supporting platform. Sometimes the supporting chair reclines giving the user a greater degree of relaxation and little pressure especially in the lumber area. Arms/hands are not in motion so less output is generated. Often the older community gravitate to this unit and is often best suited. However, those of us that have been in a truama or accident utilize these during the recovery process.

Upright bikes differ from that of recumbent bikes in that there is no laid back option or lower back support system; in fact, uprights, are the closest resemblance to those of regular outside-bikes; if you would like to burn more calories, but dislike the recumbent style, an upright might be the right choice.

As with ellipticals, rowers are also low impact, and users can enjoy burning fat while working practically, the body.

Unlike Recumbent and Upright Bikes, ellipticals involve the upper body and some ellipticals even have an incline feature to prolong your strides resulting in extra calories burned while still being a great source to avoid impacts on your kneews, hips and joints.

Although treadmills are one of the highest impact cardio mechanism you can find, it can work to your advantage if you simply walk on it as opposed to running. The trouble with running is the negative effects, it can have on the body.

Like spin bikes, treadmills cause the highest impact in the knees, hips, and joints.
